For the life of me, I cannot find a clear picture of the side console on a 4020 side console tractor. Google images "4020 side console" comes up with nice pictures of the tractor, but the side console itself is always mostly/completely blocked from view by something or other.

I'll poke google with a search every once in a while just to see if anything has come up, but I've been looking for years, and have yet to find a clear shot of the console itself. Never seen one in person. Beginning to wonder if they even exist.

Go to jdparts.com and look at the free parts catalog. Should be a good picture breakdown of one. Make sure you get into the later catalogs that are from like 201000 and up ?

Scroll down on this forum, there was a discussion on a lock for the levers on the console. Shows a good picture.

I spent a LOT of time on side console tractors. The BTO I worked for traded a pair of '64 4020-D's off on
a 4320 with factory ROPS cab with A/C, and a nfe open station 4020-D. The 4320 only had three hours on it
when I took it out plowing the first night. Got to his place about 4 pm after school, called it a night
about Midnight. I put more hours on the 4020 actually. I liked the cab in early spring and late fall, and
chopping haylage which is why he got the A/C and upgraded from a 4020 to a 4320, but the compressor already
failed by the first cutting of hay. So instead of getting dust & chaff all over inside the opened up cab I
had him put the 4020 on the chopper.

But YES, they do exist. The neighbor Dad traded help with and farmed 80 acres of rented ground with got
the first side console 4020. One Saturday morning Dad tells me Neighbor wants me to chop stalks off the
endrows he's picked. I go over to his place and he has this shiney new side console 4020-D hooked to the
Brillion 6 ft bushhog. It had something like 5 hours on it. When I pulled Dad's 6 ft Brillion I used my
Super H. Dad bought the cheapest weakest soft bolts for shear bolts, the Super H would snap them if I hit
something like a clump of dirt.

View tractorhouse ads. Later serial numbers (1969 year up).
There are usually pictures of the console.
Also view late 3020 and any 4320, 4520, 4620.
