I just bought a 560 diesel that dose not run the story i got from the guy was he was using it and parked it went to start it a month later to push snow and said it wouldn't start and said it had developed knock. I just got it home and put in the shop so i haven't had any time to mess with to much yet, but while cranking there is no smoke coming from the exhaust. thanks in advance. Just made and an account!

Loosen all six injector line nuts, tap the line ends to make sure the ermeto style ends come loose as they can stick in tight. Make sure there's fuel, stop knob pushed in too. If injection pump is working you should see fuel at each injector when cranking engine over. If not, pump MAY have several parts stuck inside, plungers, metering valve, delivery valve. are what I see most. Worst case is a seized hydraulic head rotor and broken drive shaft in the pump. Tip I use a lot on that engine is to remove all six glow plugs, makes cranking easier for faster fuel system bleeding. When system is bled you will see air-fuel mist blow out each glow plug hole, when you see that replace the plugs and engine will start easily after heating the plugs.
