I bought my 2600 new in 1977 and it has been a dandy up until last year when the alternator locked up.I know now that I should have had my original alt rebuilt, but I bought an after market for cheap and put it on. It has never worked like it should and after buying a new 4dkt battery today(ouch) I think I want to go back to a new OEM motorola alternator. Does anyone know where I can find one just like the one that Ford put on in 1977.I did find a new Motorola regulator d7nn10316b that I installed last week, but it didn't make any difference in the output of the alternator.I think the ford part # is d5nn10300d for the alternator. I can find a butt load of after market units that have that part #, but they are not Motorola units. Any help will be appreciated. roadpacker

There's all sorts of sources for a Ford/NH D5NN10300D alternator, form the FIAT dealer to ebay, to Amazon.

Go to your local electrical rebuilder and see if Motorola is still in that business, or has sold that portion to another manufacturer. Otherwise get a used unit Motorola from a salvage yard and have it rebuilt.
