I know this has been discussed some in an old thread, but I was hoping someone would see the new post: I'm thinking about buying back our dad's F-30, and was checking weights in contemplation of a haul. Tractordata.com shows it to be 5400 lbs., but maybe that's on steel? That seems a little high for that tractor on rubber; anyone ever do an actual weigh?

You could check the Nebraska Tractor Test for the measured ballasted and unballasted weights of the test tractor, or ask on the Farmall Forum on this site.

I would think it would weigh more than that. I believe the JD B that I had weighed that and it is a bigger tractor.

A Farmall F30 is a much larger tractor than a John Deere B. The John Deere G would be about the same size as the F30.

I did as ss55 suggested. Nebraska test #198 shows 5990 lbs with operator, so would assume about 5800lbs. The test was on steel wheels, and there was nothing mentioned in the test results about added ballast or weight.

Right, the test showed steel wheels, extensions and lugs on both. So what do those weigh compared to rubber tires & wheels? I'm having a hard time estimating weight.

I would guess about 5-6 thousand. If tires are loaded more like the 6000.

Err on the side of heavy. You don't want to go into this expecting a tractor that weighs 5000lbs, only to find out it weighs 6200. Better to go in thinking the tractor weighs 6500 and have it only weigh 6000.

The only time you need to be precise down to the pound is in tractor pulling, but since this is the transporting forum, I can only conclude you're either hauling, or having the tractor hauled.
