looking at a case 530 case loder backhoe diesel is it supposed to be 6 or 12 volts

12 volts. Used 2 each 6 volt batteries in series originally, as shown in the parts catalog.

the reason I ask is tractordata says 12 volt gas 6 volt diesel but may mean2 6 volts in series.

Single 12 volt for gas, 2 each 6's to make 12 for diesel
