Presumably you are able to login and get to the home screen. What happens when you click the "Add Images" button? Any error messages?

3 in order. Processing, re-try, and failure to upload. I think.
vanilla, I think. didn't download anything. Somewhere in looking at all this, I saw that Imgur has the IP address that ISP assigns to my router, not the home network IP that each computer
sees.

I think I would try a tiny image file to see if that makes any difference.

TOH
tried a 500X500 pixels (72kB) & same story. Same result on different Windows version. Couldn't get anywhere on iphone or ipad? They act like IMGUR.COM does not exist?

Assuming these are all on a home network, does IMGRU.com resolve via DNS?

From his description he is getting to the home page and from there to the upload page so the name is resolving. The problem seems to be in the upload code. But just to be sure - Jesse, are you using the app or the vanilla web page to upload?

did u miss this part? "Couldn't get anywhere on iphone or ipad? They act like IMGUR.COM does not exist?"

that could very well be a DNS issue.

No, I did not miss that but it is a rather vague description of the behavior. What is clear is that he is interacting with something from IMGUR. If that is their home or upload page DNS is working. That is why I asked if he is using the app. That runs on the client and will open locally - conceivably without a network connection of any kind.

Testing DNS on his PC is easy. Open a command window and run NSLOOKUP.

i'm going to give him enough credit to believe that if he had no network connection of any kind, he would be aware of it. there's a big difference between "my iPad can't see imgur.com" and "none of my devices can see any website."

I have concluded that the problem is inside Imgur, since I opened a new account under different name and can upload to it, but still not to original account. Thanks for trying to help me.

Sounds like the sort of thing Imgur user support should be able to track down and correct. Have you contacted them about the issue? What is the status of your previous uploads - still visible and accessible via the original account?

yes, all that is there is still useable. As you know by now, Imgur has blocked uploads by all users that have the same ISP email address that I use. They say spam. They say looking for solution. I got around by generating another email address . Think yahoo, gmail, etc.

As I said offline this is a case of using a sledge hammer to kill flies AND a slap in the face to their users. Blocking all uploads from a major domain is a drastic step but perhaps it was their only viable option. Leaving the legitimate users hanging with a dead connection and no clue as to why is inexcusable. A general email to ALL users in ALL blocked domains explaining the situation and their action would have been a good start. Absent that generating an error page response to the blocked uploads and/or a redirect to a FAQ page explaining the situation is so trivial one has to wonder how much they value their users. I guess a free account doesn't even buy you common courtesy....
