On my Ford 3000, I converted the generator to a Delco alternator and installed a tack drive. What pulley will drive
the alternator at correct speed?

I've converted a couple of my tractors, one I used the Delco pulley, another we bored out the larger dia Lucas pulley. The one with the Lucas pulley is closer but is still off a few hundred rpm at pto speed.
I've considered trying a 5" race car pulley but am concerned that alternator may be turning to slow to charge properly.

I think that someone posted a while back that the pulley from the original generator didn't get the proper reading on the tach when used on an alternator that had the tach drive, and they did some measurements and calculations to determine what the difference was between the drive gear ratios on the original tach drive on the original generator vs. the ratio on the drive on his new alternator. You might be able to search the archives to find that thread as I think that he finally determined the correct size pulley.

While you are thinking about pulley ratios, you also need to invest in a new instrument assy as the gen drives from the right and the tach from the left....the numbers on the dial are swapped. E bay has them, nice, new, and shiny for a great price. Bought both kinds, one for my 3000 with a gen. and the other type for my 3910 with an alt.

Mark, I think you are incorrect.
The tach drive on the alternator conversion turns the cable the same direction as the generator.
From the X600s onward the tach was driven off the oil pump drive gear - under the oil filter - and those ARE reversed.
