While we are on the subject, I needed a couple of bulbs for my inhouse Ivy plants. Went to Lowes and asked a sales clerk as to where to find his plant growth 60W incandescent bulbs. He took me to them and in the process he accidentally (opinion) said that a 5-6k luminance temp (Light Appearance scale on the carton) of anything will work for I come home with a couple of regular, bright white, 5k LEDs instead. Plants are doing just fine.

Obviously I am not a Horticulturist and do not understand the plant growth requirements/mechanisms all that well.......the "frequency" of the light obviously matters.
