Just to start with I don't yet have a service manual,it is on it's way. The power steering basically does not work. With the front tires off of the floor it is jerky at best. The hydraulic pump does seem to make some noise as I steer the wheels. All fluids are full. Does this system have a filter? It will all make a little more sense when I receive the service manual. Any help is appreciated.

There is a copy of SM2033 for the 1000 series tractors on line at https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B9-7bn5CX9NDSG5FaFZqY0NZUUE. It is in pdf form and is broken up in sections. Its something to start with.

The 1010 has a flow divider valve that may have some blockage inside. Check the PDF from Jim's post. Sec 190 power steering , pg 190-5-1 for the steering assembly.
