I got to run a 1953 500 at our Treasure State Flywheelers' plow day Saturday and I would put in the "most reliable" category. I pulled 4 16's in 3rd and it never missed a beat. When the owner got it, he couldn't get it to run right so he finally took the pump off and worked on it himself and now that tractor runs like an Elgin Watch.

Tom- I have a 1954 500 and also pull 4X16's. It is one of the best plowing tractors I have ever run. I am talking for its age of course. I can't believe how you can come to the end of the field and idle it almost all of the way down and that old 377 cu in engine just keeps pulling. I sure get a lot of comments about it on our plow days.
