Good little loader if you can find on that hasn't been beat to death. They are 25-30 years old, so look at the wear points closely. They are handy around the harm yard for moving bales, unloading trucks, snow removal and light dirt work. They are only a 2speed, and aren't real fast on the road. Try to use first gear when when workin it so you don't heat up the trans. Parts are available but spendy. Built by Furakawa with a Deere spec'd yanmar engine.

As I remember they had a weak link in the engine department. We had several engine jobs warrantied by Deere.. I was contemplating a 350-C engine swap into one.. But the area rep decided against it due to legal ramifications.. If I were looking for a smaller loader , I'd seriously look for a Deere 444 wheel loader.. Deere parts are quite costly , but the 84 parts are worse.

Roy,
Have you had any dealings with the 244E Loaders?
I'm wondering about the best options for getting parts?
