A friend owns a yellow cub,he wants to install a one wire alt.on it.And he wants the smallest he can buy so it will clear the hood.Can any one tell me a model or part # for what he needs.

The Hitachi 14231 will work and wire just like the 10SI. A 10SI WILL fit, but youll have to do some fab work. Im pretty sure the one on my Cub was suppose to b a 14231, but once I got it on and wired, I think it may be 14255. You can literally hear the engine speed come up as the battery reaches full charge.

DB Electric has a very small one that I used and it was great

I used "Denso mini alternator" on ebay. Cost around $60 shipped from somewhere in TN. its a 1-wire 30A alternator. Have on 3 tractors thus far. Comes with a single groove pulley for a B-size belt.

You cook up the brackets, one hole is an M8 if I recall correctly. But if a hex head the 13mm could be dusted off slightly to be a 1/2" hex Smile
