I'm helping a friend clean up his Dad's "estate". We found a device that you put under a 9-8-2N rear
axle that fastened to the 3-point, sat on the ground, and when you lifted the 3-point, it raised
the rear end off the ground so you could remove the rear wheels for repair or painting. Did that have a name?
Is anyone interested in buying it? I don't want to see it go to scrap.
It is near Billings, Montana.
E-mail me and I'll get back to you in a day or two.
I'll post this in the classified ads, also.
Thanks, everyone

You need to find the piece that goes under the front end. It looks like a oblong loop with a chain attached to it. You hook the front to the back with the chain. When you pull the three point the two work together to lift the whole tractor. Good Luck.

I've never seen that part anywhere in my experience.
What do you think the piece that I have is worth?
Thanks for the reply.

Someone posted awhile back about building their own, so someone could fabricate the front part, but then the value of originality is gone.

Yep, the Dearborn K-P Self Levitating Device; I have two, and not just the rears either. The device includes a bracket so the front gets lifted as well. I use mine all the time -it's the best device for changing wheels around. I can do all four wheels in about a half an hour. Does yours have an ID TAG on it? What are you sking?

Here is a good picture of the front bracket.
You can see the chain on the ground running back to the rear piece there is a small stud sticking up that the chain hooks on. Hope this helps BTW I paid $50.00 for mine complete. When I take it to tractor shows it usually gets a lot of attention most folks have never seen one.

I understand how the tractor picks itself up but how do you lower it?

Lower the 3 point arms.

The opposite of raising it you just lower the 3 point lift. When you raise the lift arms it raises the tractor when you lower the lift arms it lowers the tractor.

So if your hydraulics drift down you can use jack stands to keep it up I guess.

Thanks for all the replies.
Looks like it might be fairly easy to fab up the front piece.
Asking $30, or offers.
Shipping might be an issue, tho.

I was wondering if it was heavy enough for the 600 series.
