Thats me when it comes to computers. We all know there are troubles with the YT site that are being resolved as we speak. What I want to know is, could being on the YT site and signed in, slow down my whole computer? Or do I have other issues I need to check on?

No, it normally won't slow your other functions down, though waiting for a web page to load in one tab does have some impact on the browser responding in another tab depending on the operating system you use.

We are doubling and tripling the level of backups hitting the server and this combined with a problem the existing server has with too many files is causing the database to stall and get critical errors and sometimes just not respond. It's unfortunately necessary because we have to keep the new systems updated with what's on there while we get them ready. I'd like to say we'd be able to cut over tomorrow but I don't think we are quite ready. It will still be a week of this pain.

Hopefully the new system will be up and running soon. Between the slowness and all the critical errors it's getting very difficult to spend a lot of time here. Can't wait till it improves!

The reason I'm not moving immediately, is I'm trying to prepare the new ones so that the transition will take only an hour or so of downtime. As it is right now, if I had to cut over today, we'd be down for several hours. The way the current server is running, it might be preferable at this point.
