Hi, just looking at my ford 9n and wondering how I get to the break shoes, do you remove the pins from they back of the hub and have to pull the half shaft out with the drum? Or is there any way to remove the drum without pulling out the shaft?

Axle, drum, brake backing plate come out together...

Yes they will lock the wheels up from there its tar again friction to the ground..
