I'm trying to figure out the archives. I used them a few years ago and thought that I could bring up posts by the poster. I just tried it and looks like I have to go thru 3000 to 8000 pages to search for the post. If your looking for a post from several years ago, what do you do?? Thanks, Chris

To look up by posters username/handle
1. Click on Modern View
2. Click on Search in the red outlined box
3. put the poster name in the second box down marked Author
This will bring up all the posts for that author.

If you want to do a topic search,
1. Click on Modern View
2. Put your topic keywords up in the box at the very top middle of the screen.

1. Click on Modern View
2. Click on Search
3. Put the topic keywords in the top box of the two.
With this, make sure than you don't have the "search any keywords" or that will return meaningless results. You want the option to "search all keywords".

These two keyword methods offer slightly different ways to search and sometimes one will be better than the other. The top box is usually what I use though.

The downside of all these is that you will not get posts before 2007. That's where the archives are necessary.
