Hi. I have an old side delivery rake that I would like to know the make and hopefully model number of.

Most of the rake is completely rusted, but there are a few spots where I can see paint. The gears and a few other spots on the rake appear to have been red. I can't say for certain, but it looks like the wheels might have been yellow or cream.

The lid on the gear box, as well as a couple of other parts say "Made in Canada". The suspected colours and fact it was made in Canada lead me to think that it is a Massey Harris or Cockshutt, but I can't say for certain. I'm hoping someone out there can help me pin down this mystery machine.

Most of the Massey Harris stuff I have run across usually has
a MH stamp in all the major castings somewhere. It was
usually kinda small so may have to hit it with a wire brush to
find anything. Not much Cockshutt in this are so I have little
experience but I?m sure there would be some sort of company
logo or mark in a casting somewhere indicating that as well.

How about some more pictures then I might be able to identify it. Like the mounting for the caster wheels, the front excendric on the real. The frame on a Massey and a IHC 4 bar enclosed gear rake are vuturaly? identical. Some other minor changes. Like some lever controls and the 2 spots I mentioned. Had both the IH and MH rakes in my dealing with the Amish on them. Both use same teeth and clips to hold teeth on. Before I knew about the MF rake I put a real that I thought was an improved IH in a IH rake but it turned out to be a MH rake that I got the real out of a scrap yard and it layed for several years before doing the swap. Later I got to working with the Amish supplying them with machinery that they could no longer find locally to them. Over the years I must have handled or been around 60+ steel wheel rakes. And I have converted JD 594L rake to a 594 steel wheel rake using parts from different rakes. Same with NI rakes I lost track of how many I completely rebuilt. That two spots I mentioned I think will tell me if it is a MH or IHC rake, definatly not a JD, Dain, NI, MM, Case, Oliver, DB, Coop, Cockshutt, AC

That is a strange rake and I have no idea what it is, never saw one like that. The caster wheel mountings sort of look homemade for part of them and the rear rake lift is very strange. But it is not an IH rake and if a MH it is a different model that I have not seen. The shape of the hitch is a lot like both the IH and MH. Does it have open drive gears or enclosed and does it have a reverce gear for tedding?

Just came across this link and I think I've cracked it. It appears to be a Co-op E4 rake.
