Found a couple pieces that I am very proud to own and will never sell. I'm just a small time tractor nut that has been blessed to talk/meet with some folks that I am very honored to know. These 2 pcs are from a "tractor"man that I eagerly spoke with on the phone for a couple hours "one phonecall" I took PAGES and PAGES of notes, and hopefully can meet n shake his hand some day.

Stuff like this, I just don't sell. It has a story, of history that is worth more than a few bucks. Rare or not I love stuff like this.
This is about all I have in TOP SHELF stuff, for now.
Share a pic of the stuff you have,want,etc.

It's nice to have OEM parts and manuals but these items are not as rare as you might believe. The 2N battery cover was added when they changed the snap-in battery door, an original item that IS RARE, to the hinged battery/gas tank access door. Dennis Carpenter repops the 2N battery cover new, exact-as-original. The early snap-in covers were prone to falling out and lost and the later 2N covers were often left off and tossed away or left in the barn. The DEARBORN manuals are a dime a dozen. DEARBORN MOTORS, was incorporated in January 1947 as the new Ford tractor distributor for the 8N Tractor Model, released in July, 1947, and all implements thereafter. Original used DEARBORN manuals, as well as a few illegally copied newer clones, can be found on ebay all the time.

Just like you I share an appreciation for the old parts. Here is some of what I have around the shop.

True, manuals are a dime a dozen. The battery doors are uncommon/rare for obvious reasons, I do own a O.E.M. hood w pop in cover, a used aluminum grille, a few of the beer can generators and a few more goodies for my early 40 model 9N. Uh, kinda hard to find. Probably not as rare as I think though..
Also have several of the O.E.M. aluminum pto covers for the early 39/40 models w 9n part numbers that you said didn't exist. I have a old timer that begs to differ

So yeah, my stuff is not the only out there. Its unique though and still original with the rust that helps tell the story.
Some folks like me just try to find the stuff,help preserve it and someday pass it along and try to get some of our money back. Lol

Thought it would be cool, to have folks post pics of stuff they collect.
Surely you can show off some stuff brother Tim.

Very nice, thanks for sharing. Hopefully you have lots more stuff stashed away.

For now the old battery cover is my top shelf piece, mainly for the story behind it from the man that spent many,many years in the business. I could sand it,paint and use it, BUT to someone like me that would be a waste.

The ole cheap manual is basically worthless, BUT has notes,dates,prices,etc.scribbled everywhere. The man that owned it had to take care of his equipment, yet another story.

Most of this stuff is still out there,nothing really special to most folks except the real nuts like me.

[quote= yet another story. [/quote]
To me, you just hit the nail on the head! I had a young woman stop last night to pick something up. When she saw my 5 Fords, she made the mistake of asking & the stories started! It's not so much the value of a piece of "stuff" as it is the story behind it!
Thanks for reminding us!
