Can anyone identify this little orangeish cover plate? What is it for? On one of our 8ns.

40angst,That is a fuel pump block off and your block is a Jeep/truck or industrial engine

Never heard of that! We have another 8n and two 9ns but this is the only one. Was that some sort of factory option with certain years of the 8n?

Yes Its power unit/ combine. Seen a few. I have 2 172 power units that have hole, 1 has fuel pump on it.

Not that I'm aware of. Looks like the engine was replaced with an
industrial or combine engine. Pretty common in machines this old.

Industrial engine fuel pump plate. Industrial tag should be under battery box on engine
