This is for anyone else who has trouble with e-mail links. I had asked a couple of times for a persons e-mail that was said to be open. Turns out the issue is with software I am not going to pretend to know anything about. Below is how I finaly got access to an individuals e-mail.

On a Samsung Android using Samsung browser there was no e-mail link in Modern View. Same browser in Classic had a [NO EMAIL] link that has an error message like this:

Using Chrome browser in Modern View yields the same results, no e-mail link to click. Swapping to Classic View in Google Chrome a functioning e-mail link appears:

Support for the BBCODE direct email feature has been disabled for years. All you are getting in your example is a form to submit a third party email to the user. It is not a direct link - the email is sent by YT on your behalf and as far as I know that works in both views. Embedded email links work fine in both Modern and Classic view. In modern view all you have to do is type your email address in the message text and the website will automagically turn it into a link:

oldhokie@windyridgefarm.us

In classic view you have to enter the HTML to make that happen.

That is what I found weird. Some show up and have a clickable link. Tim Daily's is the example I used. Many others show up in both views.

I believe that depends on whether YT has an email address on file for the user. Not everyone has provided one.
