Can anyone tell me the differences between the mk1 and mk2 D2900?
Are there any major obstacles in replacing a mk2 with an mk1?

You've got to get way more specific than that. What is the Mark 2 out of and what is the Mark 1 out of ?? Have you looked at both of them ?? Any idea what YEAR they were built ??
