I had bought a Farmall 706 diesel several months ago and have time this winter to properly bolt the operators platform down. I don't think any bolts have ever been holding it down since I acquired it. Seems like it always stays in place with all of the cutouts it has to fit into. Anyway it appears that all of the bolts are twisted off at the transmission/rear end/brake castings. My question is how many bolts hold it down and where are they located? I see one hole on each brake housing (have those broken bolts out). I also see what appears to be two broken off bolts 10 inches apart about 8 1/2 inches ahead of the brake housing holes at the front of the top of the transmission cover. Are there two bolts mid way back on the transmission cover? Looks like broken bolts there as well. The on-line parts diagram is not much help. I know there are spacer sleeves that must be used. Thanks.

Thanks Pete. That is what I came up with today as well. Just have the two twisted off ones up front to take out yet. Have one of them drilled through the center. Unfortunately they drill like they are hardened bolts.

Grade 2or 5 would be plenty strong to hold it on. Yup the six bolts. My 806 has had some of those spacers be just plain pipe for them since I bought it in 1978. All they need to be is long enough to clear the linkage on the top of the range lid and set right, on the cast ears for the steering pedestal under the steering wheel.
