Hi I am new to tractors and bought a ford 3000 diesel. It is missing the fuel pump for the injection system. I see them for sale on ebay for 500-800 but I am not sure if these are good quality or not. I would like to get the tractor running so I can mow with it but don't want to spend that much if the pumps are not worth it.

Thanks

They used two different pumps on the 3000 depending on the year made
CAV rotary pump
SIMS in line

Looking in the hole were the pump goes does the gear have 3 bolt holes around the center hole or 3 slots

Its a 73 and I think its a cav pump from the pics Ive seen but I dont know for sure. Im only into the tractor for 300 so I think its worth a try. Ive been cleaning the fuel system out and had it cranking today. I have a friend coming with a compression tester to see if its good to go internally.

Speaking from experience I would stay away from buying on ebay ... IP went bad while under warranty and was given option of refund or replacement ... chose replacement. Was told by seller that they decided to do a refund ... their price on the IP is now about $200 higher ... so I would guess that was their motivation. Maybe others are ok but completetractor is not trustworthy.
