Super Major injector pump drive coupler knocking

There is a knock coming from the injector pump drive coupling at idle. Is this normal for this tractor? It appears to be the regular Simms pump (not Minimec).

Yes, they clatter. There is a rubber cushioned one that was used in the trucks which
can be fitted but the fibre drive ones like you have go for years with a clatter.

You could try slackening off the clamp bolt to the drive shaft and levering the drive
along towards the pump, that will quieten things down for a week or two then the noise
will come back.

When a Major pump drive is rattling, it indicates that the engine is running. Smile Just the nature of the beast.

You could try neoprene board same material used on prime movers skid plate.
