I posted awhile ago about pickup header and you both replied. Thanks! I'm the world's dumbest & worst mechanic. Had a mechanic here. He quickly figured out the big auger that brings crop into the center (after being picked up) had slipped on one end and was hard against the bottom of the gathering head. He adjusted it, we ran it and it is fine now! I'm excited!
We've been terribly dry, but now have had three rains in the past two weeks: 1, 1 1/3, 1 1/2. Oats is looking good now. I'm hoping, I'm hoping, I'm hoping!
Mechanic also confirmed my thoughts of how to achieve space between rollers of cutter conditioners, so the plan is to cut/swath and then use JD 42 to pickup and combine the oats.
Thanks again for your replies and attempts to help! kelly

When you get cutting post some pics. I have always liked the 42's. Had one years ago but dad sold it before I ever used it. Tom
