Need help on which plates to buy for my JD 246 Planter

Picked up a 246 Planter and I absolutely know nothing about corn planters. It has a set of plates in it but I dont know what they are lol. The plates Im looking to buy are pumpkin, soy bean, watermelon, sunflower, sweet and field corn. Any help would greatly be appreciated, thanks.

Sweet corn and field corn will either be for a flat or round and then small medium or large flats and rounds. Large flats would probably plant it all for you. Usually for seed corn you fit the plates to the seed according to a chart on the bag. Those are probably not available much anymore since most corn is planted with platless planters or with just a couple of plate sizes in the White or Kinze planters. A large flat plate would plant doubles in soybeans, watermelon small rounds in corn seed. Biggest thing is to not crack the seed or it will not grow.

Lincoln Ag Products would help you they sell new plastic plates, there out of Nebraska,Did yo get a owners manual for it, some good info would be in their also!

There is also a parts book with nothing but plates in it with information about use. I do not know the number for the book but I have one hidden someplace.
