Looks to me like a lot of other threads here that get lost in classic view and only get the occasional reply and gets new users confused. I don't see anything that looks like spam.

I said spam because it was an old post kind of plugging a product, which revived by a new user, followed by only first time posters. Seeing the same pattern on some other sites, new users replying to an old post with either plugs for a business or product (or just off the wall rambling using words or phrases from the original post but clearly with no idea of what the post was really about. It just looked like another way of phishing to me, if it wasn't, my apologies to the poster.

That's what we tend to call it too. Even if it isn't an eastern european hacker/spammer, it's still in violation of the rules to try and sell something on the forums. I understood your use of the word.
