I get some emails that go into spam that I want to keep because it should go to someplace like the inbox.. I do not know how to move things out of spam to a different place like the inbox. The computor desides on its own when to delete those messages it thinks are spam but are not. How do i get it to quit loosing the emails I want to keep. Used computor I just bought from dealer and has other problems they cannot fix such as no way to print things I want to print off to keep. It is a tower. Had it back 4-5 times to get it working and they say nothing wrong with it. 70+ mile one way trip to store. First thing is how to stop it from loosing things I want to keep.

Go to your Spam folder and find the message you want to keep. To the right of the message there should be a small blank square box. Click on the box and then an OK symbol and the word More will appear above the list of messages. If you click on the OK symbol the message you want to keep will move immediately to your Inbox. OR, if you click the word More a drop down menu will appear and you can move the message to your Inbox or any other folder

The problem is what Pete told you may not apply to the email program and or host you use. You may use Microsoft Outlook or you may have web based mail like Gmail or Yahoo, if you give us what is after the at symbol in your email might help others to chime in who are using the same thing. That way what they tell you directly applies to what you have and shows on your screen. I think you posted this once before not to long ago. What I replied that time was to use the type of system or provider you have as described above. Use that in a Google search ..in x email move mail from spam to hold folder.. Which in this case you would probably first search for how to create a Hold folder. Do you have any relatives or younger friends that could come help you out? About 10 minutes of their time and they would have you fixed up.

Oh boy now what happened?? In Classic the T Vet shows in the list as replying to this thread, but his meanderings are not there when I open it to View. Somebody must have clipped his wires!

Gotta know who your email provider is (e.g. GMail, AOL, MSN), what your email client is (e.g. MS Outlook, Thunderbird, web mail), and (if you know) what protocol (e.g. POP, IMAP, HTTPS) your client uses to access its server.

Note that most email providers filter for spam at the server, so you have to use their web interface to see your spam folder. But email clients also filter for spam, so you might have a second spam folder on your PC. Typically you can tell the server and/or client how strict you want the spam filter to be, and which senders should never be filtered.

Try googling how to move an email in whatever email program you use.

For example, if you use Gmail, then Google: Move email from spam folder to inbox in Gmail... (or Hotmail or Yahoo).

I frequently Google for instructions on how to do something.

Or you could drop and drag them to your inbox. Right click on the email and hold it. Then you drag that email up to the word inbox and release the right click button. It should follow it up there.

Good Morning Leroy,

If you are using yahoo, go to your spam folder and click on the email that you want to move. At the top of the page, click on move. One of the move choices will be to your inbox.

It only came when by old computor got a virous and had to get a different one. And this one the print was large enough for me to read but now it is so small I can hardly read it. Changed overnight. The problems all came with the change of computors so I know it is somerhow the settings in this machine Even email from YT is being sent to spam and then being droped over night. My email company is called Watchtv.net and I have had the same email provider since 2007. Over air TV and internet untill 4 years ago when I had to move. Everything worked fine with the old machine. They seem to have gotten the problem fixed with it shutting off in middle of trying to make a post to YT. I just basicly know how to use a coumpetr. Non't now what drag is. Need things dumbed down for a dummy.

I can sympathize Jim. I just got a new laptop two days ago. Most everything reloaded to the new one from the cloud or somewhere, I don't understand it. Even though I got everything back, I had to go in to most everything and change settings back to where they were, even here on YT. Trying to get in to those settings to do it has been the problem. My font size was smaller too, so that had to be changed. Luckily it didn't mess with my Yahoo email. Even Craigslist was messed up and it took a day to figure out how to get that to display like it used to.

It's tough for old guys like us to do this stuff. When we got out first computer in the early 90s, the kids were in elementary school and showed me how to run it. The wife has a laptop just like my new one. If she didn't, I'd have had this one all screwed up and would still be trying to figure it out. There was a period there after the kids were grown and the wife hadn't gotten fairly literate in these things, that Royse and I made quite a few trips back and forth with him straightening these things out for us.

What about the friends or relatives I ask about, nobody? How do you open your mail program? If it is by pointing to an Icon or small picture on the desk top (desktop means computer screen as shown when you turn on the computer and if done with start up) If so right click on your mail icon and then put the pointer on Properties at the bottom of the list and left click. Tell us what that says. On the size of the print when you are viewing YT try this if your mouse has a scroll. Hold the control key at the lower left and slowly scroll the wheel away from you.

To increase the print size, hold down the Ctrl key and then tap the + key. When the print size is the size you want, release the Ctrl.

You can also make the print size smaller by using the Ctrl key and the - key.

I have Yahoo email. I check my spam folder every time I look at email. Some belong there, and some do not. When it sends something to Spam, I go into the Spam folder, and one of my options at the top is 'this is not Spam'. If you click that icon, the message will go back to your inbox, and the spam filter will now know to NOT put that sender in spam anymore. If you have particular senders that you want, put them in your contacts list, and the computer will recognize them when next you get a message from them. You can also go into your Spam folder, and set the time length that emails will stay in Spam before they are deleted. I set mine to at least 2 weeks, because I'm not on the computer every day.
