My 8N has no engine numbers at all. The pad is completly blank with not even a hit of numbers ever being stamped. All it has in the normal 8N cast into the engine. I can go out and take a pic if needed.
Thanks

Does anyone know if Ford or anyone else still manufactures replacement block's? If not anyone know the year that they might have stopped?
Thanks again to everyone that helps me gain knowledge on these neat old tractors and help keep mine running great. :)

I've hung onto that link cause it really sounds like a deal to me for what you DO seem to get.

I guess they are straight up, but I don't know.

Thanks Dunk! Now I just wonder when this block was replaced. I bought it from a guy that said that his father had it since new. But can't contact him because he sold me the tractor as he was moving and really don't know where he moved to.
Thanks again. I love this site! And of course everyone that willing to jump in and help a fellow like me that wants to learn all I can about these marvelous machines

The whole tractor sold new for $585 dollars in the first years and the CRANKSHAFT list price was $15.45 in the mid 50s. CENTAUR

A brand new Chevy automobile right off the line was about $3500 in the '70s.

What are you trying to say???

What I have said all along, that we ARE SCREWED?

Thanks Kenny, I'll go out to the shed after it stops raining. I'll look at the engine under the battery try and see if I see any thing under there. Who knows maybe I'll get lucky and find a build date there. :D
