Looking for JD 95 Parts

Does anyone happen to have John Deere part #H64208? It is a Sprocket for a double 80 chain. I believe the chain is used for the cylinder
drive on our 95 corn special. The one that is currently on our 95 is just about finished its lifetime.

Or does anyone know where to call about the sprocket? JD Dealer says they are no longer available.

Brothers and I were running 3 95 combines years ago. We only used two different sized sprockets on the cylinder drive, one for wheat and a much slower one for grain sorghum. I will look around and see if I can find anything.

I will try and get a picture uploaded of the sprocket I am looking for. Our combine has the variable speed option on it. So no need for us to change sprocket sizes. I am just looking for the idler sprocket. It will be for a double 60 chain I think.

Here is a picture of the sprocket hopefully.

The sprocket has 18 teeth on each set.

This is the tensioner for the double 60 chain that runs the variable speed cylinder on the 95 corn specials

That sprocket has LOTS of life left as an idler/tensioner sprocket.

Try Bowie Equipment in Tipton Iowa as he has lots of parts combines. That can come off a 55,95 or 105. Also try Mikes Equipment in Buhler KS as he still has parts machines. I have some parts machines as well but mine are as wore as yours. I have 2 brand new ones but one is going on my 95 and the other for my 105. Tom

That sprocket is the chain tightener sprocket and is not that bad. More important to keep that chain oiled. Remove it and soak in to gear oil. Hang up for 1/2 hr to drip of then install it. And to check them chains for wear lay it flat on the floor or board then squeeze it together the pull it apart , if u have 3/4 to 1 inch of chain movement , then junk it and get a new one a worn out chain is what wears out the sprockets. They start climbing the teeth. I just finished doing this to all my combine chains yesterday. Lube is the key. Then after during use I spray them with chain lube at a slow idle. I can see if chain is very dry. Plus its inside the chain where the lube is required thats why u soak them.

And one more thing. Put that chain on the outside of that sprocket. You want the chain traveling in a circle , not bending back after going around the sprocket as its doing now. Your chains will last longer.

Rust red,

This chain was replaced last year before corn harvest and only has about 90 acres of run time. I do put grease and chain lube on them during operation after every few hoppers full. I am just trying to find an extra to have on hand because I would rather have one and not need it than not have one at all. Plus this sprocket has lots of side to side play in it.

So replace them brgs in the sprocket. Brgs are easy to get.

The tightener sprocket is on the correct side.

Rust Red,

I called the local dealer and he said bearings are no longer available as well. The outer race for the bearing is still available. But at limited quantity.

I found a new sprocket down in Alabama that is being shipped to me now. The part # is PK860H. It still fits a double 60 chain and the parts book online shows it using the same bearing setup as my 95.

I have found a nos bearing for the sprocket as well. Thanks for all the help. I will try and post a picture of the new sprocket when it gets here and compare it to the old one.

I found one on eBay. I think there is one more listed but it is more expensive. $50-$60 if I recall correctly. Not sure if there are any more outer races or not.
