Anybody know the pros and cons of a TL12??? Is 900.00 too much for a 4x4 rear steer running working machine with a toothed bucket? Quite Rusty, lacks brakes, and needs tires all the way around, but they hold air. Any input is appreciated.
Thanx,
Rob |

Kind of depends what you are going to use it for if just around the farm yard it sounds like a fair deal. If you want to go out and make money it sounds like it needs a lot of work to be safe and trustworthy on a jobsite. |

Hello Uncle Ernie,
It is my intensions to use around the farm and not for daily dollar, but I wonder if you might know what I might watch out for as far as know problems that they might have and any connections for parts weather New or Used? It's clear to me that at the time it was manufactured it must have been of integrity, since it is still here and functional even though well used.... Any and all input is appreciated.
Thanx,
Rob |

Hi Rob, I have a TL 12 with a 262 6 cyclinder engine. Hydralics are very fast, carry capacity 4,000 lbs. Machine weights about 12,000 lbs. I think they are a good machine. One draw back I feel is the rear steering, after some of the steering parts get worn, pretty hard to drive straight really wonders, so if you are trying it out do so on level ground with no ditches, first time for me I was in low going slowly and could't keep it on the road, hit the ditch darn near rolled it. There was a change after serial number 2003, serial number is located, on a plate on the left side of the seat. Your price sounds very fair. What engine 4 cyl, 6 cyl gas or diesel? Any questions please ask, good luck. David |

Hello David,
First and formost, Thanx for the Input! I wanted to say that I nearly rolled off my chair with your visualation of nearly rolling the machine. I don't mean to laught at your expence, but it just tickled me and on a serious note if it's like the one I'm looking into there is no cab inclosure or protection which could have killed You! Glad Ur Here to tell the Tale!
As of late I haven't even seen the machine and have only spoken to the fellow by phone. Do you happen to have any photos that you might share with me, Please?
I'm told that this machine was retired from the State Hwy. Dept. and they were only made between 1955-1965. This one is a 4cyl. Gas. The fellow says that it has tires are all the same size on it all the way around and the body is Quite rusty, but on a scale from 1-10 and 10 being the hardest, how available are parts to you and do you have any good sources for parts, either New or Used, both for that matter? He also claims it has No Brakes....... Imagine that compounding your little ride....... Lol! Please forgive me. Gotta Keep a sence of Humor! I have found a Day without Laughter is a Wasted day.
Have you had any driveline issues, engine, trans.,or axles, either front or rear? Is yours full time 4 wheel? I think it's gonna need 4 tires a fuel tank, wheel cylinders, and may be a master cylinder the way the fellow talks, any suggestions for choice location of these parts?
Thanx,
Rob |

Hi Rob, Would be happy to email you pictures, not sure how to post them on here. There are some salvage yards that have some of these. Engine parts are easy to find, I changed mine from diesel to gas. Haven't had any driveline issues.Full time 4 wheel.

Hi David-I just acquired an Allis TL-12 and I am in need of some parts. Can you please let me know where the salvage yards are that have some Tl-12's in their inventory?
I am in need of:
Headlight bezels

Air cleaner assy
Pneumatic tire and related parts in the flywheel region
