Firing order is 1-2-4-3. Usually cast into the housing that the magneto bolts to. Issue is- where is Number one wire installed? Sometimes top left, sometimes top right, rotation is CW, when viewed from the rear. Try both of those positions first. Otherwise, do the finger in the #1 hole, compression stroke, see where the rotor in the mag is pointing. Try all wire location options before tearing down the engine to see if the timing is set wrong at the cam gear. KISS formula. Sounds like it is trying to fire- good sign for a simple fix.

don't know if this will be of any use but run into a similar situtation several years ago. after pulling a non runner about a mile we found that the original mag had been replaced with a different brand and rotor turned the opposite direction. switched wiring order for this, pulled less than 2 feet and had a sweet runner. leroy

1, 2, 4, 3 as per the I-T manual. As a matter of fact all the Allis tractors from the B up to the WD45 used the same firing order. Which would include. B, C, WC, WD, and WD45

Thanks for all the input, 1 is top nexts to engine, that whats cap got, then I did wire it clockwise, 1 2 4 3, I've forgot with out looking, but I know its the older mag. just got parts for it, point con. coil, I think [K], I know it dont make sense, but I took plug out, and the rotor is under number one, took valve cover off valves working ok, pull it a couple of times pops a lot out ex. sounds just like wired wrong, but I guess not, I think I'll just try it again, maybe the carb. could do it, It was froz up bad.
