my 49 b has a lot of play in the front part of the drag link. is that part adjustable or does it need to be replaced. thanks

Depends how it is made. My '49 WF has an adjustment on each end- cotter key holds a threaded plug that tightens against a curved section that mates to the ball. If yours is a pressed together unit- no adjustment.
