I have a Ford 2600 and a Ford 3000. Thought I would freshen them up with a Pertronix coil and electronic ignition. I have done something wrong or I have some bad parts. I would like to go back to stock just to help eliminate all the variables I am now dealing with. My question is do I need a resistor for the coil. I was told that the points operate off of 6 volts and the tractor is 12 volts. I have not been able to verify this. Also, if anyone has a schematic drawing of the coil, points, etc. I would be grateful and offer a free meal or two here in Lexington, KY. Sorry, no shipping.
Merry Christmas!
