I am attempting to partially rebuild a G-188D engine (in frame kit). I pulled the No. 2 piston and cracked sleeve. The rod bearing has the following stamped into the outer surface:
DAB 10-80A
A14458
DA 95
Does anyone know if these are std or oversized?

It may be .010" undersize. Measure the rod journal to see if its been ground undersize and if it has worn some more from use. You may need to pull the crankshaft. Your manual should have the rod journal size when new or call your local auto machine shop. Hal

My experience is that if the back of the bearing is not marked .10.20.30 it is standard. You could mic the shaft to be sure.I believe the std.journal size is 2.062.

Jim,

Your # --A14458 should be A 144458
and it is a standard bearing. My guess is
that they are original bearings . The dab
label vanished from the market some years
ago, the A numbers are case #'s

A144459 is .002 us
A144460 is .010
A144451 is .020
A144462 is .030 undersize
