I inherited a Farmall Super a when my stepfather died in Nov. 2009. I do not know much about the tractor, But I want to buy some books but not sure what to buy. I was told that there were 2 engines for the Super a.
A 113 and a 123. The 123 had a water pump from the factory installed and the 113 did not , but one could be added to the 113 later. My farmall has a water pump but I don’t know if it was added or from the factory. I also looked for the serial number on the right side of the seat support but did not see one. Is there any other way to get info about a Farmall , Maybe like an engine serial # ? What do you suggest. I don’t know if the 2 Engine info. is correct or not.
I also understand The C123 engine was on the Super A-1. "How can you find out what tractor version you have without the Serial Number??

There's a machined flat spot on your engine block below No1 sparkplug that should have the serial number. It may be covered with layers of paint and some oil & dirt. The Super A's w/the C123 engine & pump started with SN 356002. They were made in 1954. The engine block number 354898R1 was used on SN 310300-356001 with thicker sleeves for the C113cid. That same block was on the Super C too. Hal
