I bought a dandy little 530 hoe over the weekend. Belonged to an older fellow, and he was meticulous on it's care. All pins and bushings are good and tight. Engine purrs like a kitten, and the clutch and brakes are in real good shape. Stil has original paint, and not bad, considering it's a 40+ year old machine.

It has a 24" digging bucket, but would like to find a 12" and maybe a 30" smooth edge ditching bucket for it too.

I found other posts similar to mine, but no real confirmation as to other model hoe bucket's fitting. Will buckets from a later model 580 fit it?

I called Case's Customer Assistance number yesterday, who told me to call my local Case dealer, on the subject. I called them, and the parts guy really couldn't confirm that other models fit. Even gave him the 12" bucket part number listed on their site, hoping it would cross reference to what all it would fit. That didn't work either.

Are there any of the guy's that posted questions about their 530's on here, found anything??

There are some pretty good deals on used buckets here and there, and I do have the tools to make new ears for a bucket.. Just trying to save myself some work, if I run across an old 580, or whatever bucket may fit.

Any help would be appreciated...

530 and 580 are tractors, not backhoes. The bucket depends on what model Case backhoe you've got. That being said, you can make just about anything fit with a little welding and bushing stock. I've got a Ford 12" bucket on my Case 580CK that has a Case model 33 backhoe.

A Case 530 tractor usually has a model 31 or 32 backhoe.

As I'm reading more into it, I realize the hoes had a model number of their own.

Once I get it home, and do some measuring, and get some numbers, it should be pretty simple. I did notice on the case buckets on the newer models, the stick attaching point is wider than the cylinder hookup point. Whereas, if I remember correctly, the old Ford 550 bucket ears were inline, or straight.

Thanks.

I've got an old Case 530CK unit. The buckets seem to be unique to Case. So long as you go by dimensions of pin diameters and spacing you should be safe to shop.

Thanks for the info. The Case parts guy said new buckets are still available. A 12" is $1200.00. I'll look around for some good used ones.. Just missed some locally on Epay a couple weeks ago. NOW I need them..., ain't that the way it goes..?? LOL...

You can make almost any bucket fit with some welding. Since buckets tend to be very expensive, it's well worth converting one if bought cheap. I've had Ford 12" and AC 16" buckets on my Case hoe.

A few more #s

Case 33 and 33S backhoe buckets:
12" D37472 trenching
18" D37473 trenching
24" D37474 trenching
30" D37475 trenching
36" D37476 trenching

12" D37477 bellhole
16" D37478 bellhole
30" D37479 bellhole

36" D37480 combo bellhole graveyard bucket

Well fella's, what I thought to be a 530, is actually a 310B tractor. It was parked in a building, and couldn't read the model number... Never assume just because the decals say what it is, ain't necessarily so..!!

None the less, it is well worth what I paid, and should be a tad easier on gas.

Due to someone's infinite wisdom, of placing the number tags where you get on and off the tractor, and where your foot will rub the tag when operating the hoe, has worn the model numbers off.. I can just barely make out the serial number's.

Everything I looked up on Case Construction parts site says the hoe is a model 310. No other number... Anyone familiar with these.?? Haven't had time yet to cross part numbers to see if anything crosses from a 31 or 32.

I'll start another thread with a 310B in the subject line.

Thanks to all who replied..!!
