Look in the YT Photo Ads and search under Case. Not too far down is an advertised 830 CK and photo shows a CK but he says its a "late model with eagle hitch". Did Case still offer the Eagle hitch as an option on the 30 series tractors after the 64/65 switch to conventional 3pt?

I know the 63 was eagle, we had one when I was a kid, didn't know about late 60s CK models.

When case introduced the little 200b in 58, you could opt for the eagle hitch or a standard 3 pt hitch. The 30 series could be bought either way close to the end. I don't know exactly when they dropped the eagle hitch all together. I know there were some late models that had them.

Hi Jim Somewhere ,, maybe in FULL STEAM AHEAD , I read that eagle hitch OPTION was retired when the 70 series came out,..No Doubt, a lota guys had eagle hitch designed Case equipment, that had proven to be a good match ,,. but modern 3pt was like holding a river back with a sheet of plywood ...

Thanks for the clarification all. I was under the impression that Case completely dropped the eagle hitch in 65 although I knew the smaller 30 series tractors offered conventional 3pt from series introduction. I was not aware that it was available on the hundred series tractors as far back as 58. So what Case did was slowly phase out eagle as tractor sizes grew and the need for a class II hitch increased rather than upgrade the eagle hitch.

Once again these answers have proven what a great site this is and what a great bunch of folks you all are!!

The Tractor advertised in the photo adds does not have an eagle hitch!!! All Comfort King 730 & 830 flat platform, tractors had the DOM 3pt hitch., Not to be confused with COM Drive. This hitch system was a CatII swinging arm, with sway blocks. It was a weight transfer system with load and depth control. Eagle hitch had none of these features, Case called it Draft-O-Matic. The guy who posted that he has two ROUND NOSE 400s with Case-O-Matic trans is confused also since the SQUARE NOSE 4-600B Clausen tractors and the Racine 800B were the first to use the converter driven transmission. Just to confuse the issue a bit more the first Comfort King tractors were the 930s in 1962 with 6 Speed Trans. They never had a 3pt. A Tug only When the 8 Speed 930 trans. was made standard DOM was offered on them and the1030. The eagle hitch was last installed on low profile 7-830s where you still stradled the trans. end of story.
