Son just bought a case 530? backhoe, no serial plate on tractor or loader, found one on backhoe, it is a model 31. anyone got any ideas how to tell if this tractor is a 530? 430 or what? has been repainted, decals gone. except i can read Dual on the gas tank. it does have the high & low box & shuttle shift. want to order manuels, but not sure what to get. i can compare engine to a buddys 530, but this is a backhoe tractor, no pto & backhoe is permenantly mounted. also pump is in front & below radiator. buddys 530 is a 1969, it has single gauges, this has gauges in one cluster like my 611b, it's a 1958 and the first 530 was in 1960, so it,s probley a earley one if it's a 530.it is a gas model also. Thanks for any help

There were two 530 series, an early and a Construction King series, a picture would help us all in knowing which you have. Could you post a couple pics for us?. The first series had the hydraulic pump mounted out in front of the main radiator casting behind a removable guard, and the front grill guard sloped from the top forward to the area where the pump was located, the CK series had the pump located just in front and below the radiator behind a removable flat shield below a flat bolt in grill. There was a drastic difference in appearance so any more features you can give will be helpful. mEl

Thanks for your reply, i can't do a picture at this time, but from your description it is an early one, has sloped grill guard & pump brackets mounted on holes for front weights in casting on a farm tractor and grill-hood and gas tank is same as a farm tractor. is their any way to tell year by casting #s? did they make the first 530 backhoe in 1960? Thanks Gene

A guess would say it was later than that cause I think the 00 series was current in 60, guessing 61 or after but not certain, yes you are describing the pre construction king model. The ag parts book shows the utility front and rear axles and things that make up that tractor along with regular ag tractor parts. mEl
