anybody advanced the cam one tooth on a C, would like to try it and see if it would make any more power, I have dynoed it and it makes 23.5 hp. think it would help or hurt.

Try it and let us know what happens. I am game to here about it if your game to try it.

23.5 sounds like you are still running 3 3/8" pistons with a factory spec head. You can get an over bore to 3 7/16" piston and you could remove at least .100 off the head.

It takes bigger cubes to make HP.

advancing a came does not necessarliy mean more HP. You might get the intakes to open faster, but remember the back end does the same thing..A cam grind might be a better idea... AFTER doing Dicks ideas first.

and get a stiffer spring for the governor and pickup 2-300 rpm with the new head compression and bigger pistons. Get your compression up to 9 to 1 or so instead of 6.5 to 1.

I'll say if you advance it a hole tooth it wouldnt even run, a few degrees may help, or may not.

As a general rule, advancing a cam will increase the engines low end torque at the expense of high RPM horse power but this engine only turns 1600 RPM and it was designed for low end torque to begin with. You will likely need a engine dino to see if there is any difference with the cam timing change. It will also be a lot of work to pull the timing cover off several time during testing to change the cam timing. What ever blows your skirt up.
