I had this post on Implement Forum and it was suggested that I post here. Can anyone tell what model this AC planter is? Just picked up at auction and would be nice to find a owners manual. It has adapter for common JD "B" plates or Lustran plastic plates. If anyone can suggest a good all round plate number for sweet corn I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance. Bill

B 1 was our most common, I had 72 model units I think. They are all the same almost. Probably need a smaller plate than B 1 plastic. they are 24 cell If it plants to fast might try 16 cell plates (Old JD like 1933) I think it is 64 in around your wheel so If 8 in spacing is ok, should drop 8 kernels every round of the wheel. It will take a little experminting to get it right. PS you have flat chain the newer units have bicycle chain they just count every other tooth, so there book will work with your units also. Hope this helps. Vic

No 71 unit planters on a homemade frame. I have a 4 row with those units. Good planters. Make sure the seed knockers are free. or relace. I got an owners manual from my dealer.

Picked up some plastic plates on E-bay so hopefully I'll be planting sweet corn before long. I replaced a press wheel bearing but everything else looks good. Those AGCO parts are expensive! I will be looking into finding a manual. Thanks for all the help. Bill
