1969 diesel Case 830 Comfort King case-O-matic with case bucket has developed a slow and weak hydraulic response. Hyd. fluid was tan and I assume water contaminated, changed fluid, no improvement. Am I looking at a new pump, or do I look somewhere else first? had this tractor from new and use it somewhat regularly.

unless you had enough water in the oil to cause pump damage(can happen just not very often) your problem is in the hyd valve

Thank you for the reply. I will look into that and see what it requires. Do you know if this means replacement or maybe just a rebuild?

usally just a rebuild but be prepared parts are a little pricey, if you know some one with a flow meter it will help you in repairing your system cnt

Again, thank you for the response. I am a 'I like to do it myself, but have no experience' kind of guy and will probably search out a mechanic or tractor guy to help me out. Too much potential for screwing it up on my own.

My 830 Comfort King did that about 15 years ago, it was the pressure relief valve. There was an update kit that I installed and it"s had 1500 psi ever since. Have no idea if there is anything available anymore. Stick a 2500 lb. pressure gauge in one of the remotes and see what you have.
