I know this has been discussed several times and I do not want to start a oil war. Is 15-40W diesel engine oil ok to use in my gas engines? I have been using 10-30W diesel oil for years and no problem. Will be using it in a 1958 800, 700. Also used in a 411-B, 530, GMC pickup, 23 HP Kohler lawn mower. I am switching to 15-40W in my diesel tractors and would like to use one oil for all as I have in the past with 10-30W.

Right or wrong i have used cenex 15-40 in everything for many years just for the convenience of having just one type of oil around. May rethink that. just bought a 55gal drum of 15-40 today. $680. Straight 30 was about a $100 cheaper. Up over a $100 this spring.
