Hi Joe

The following are pics of my late model 630 diesel. The on item not include in the pic of the right side is the manifold heated solenoid, I didn't have it mounted yet when this picture was taken. (See blue arrow and circle for location of the solenoid.) - Joe

CNT, you wouldn't happen to have another 630 or even 530 that is a gasser of that vintage, Char-Lynn unit under steering wheel, would you? Steering suction hose routing is soooo much cleaner on the diesel without the distributor and coil sitting there. I have mine all hooked up but my hose routing is tortuous at best and I am wonderimng if there is a better way than I have done it.

My tractor has an electrical item with what can be decribed as insulated air hose that snakes up to intake, but seems to be missing some parts, any ideas?

Joe

The electric cord hanging down from the center of the left side of the block is connected to an electric block heater.

A picture of your mystery item would be helpful. It sounds like it may be the cable that carries electrical current to the manifold heater. - Joe

Do you have that manual section for a 630? Up to Torque Tube, Section F I think binder is in the other room, is as far as and can fin. Joe Young, 630crazy and I have hashed this over several times and we wondered since 630 was made only 4 years that they never finished service books. Says on the cover of Section A to look at 500b/600b books until all sections were available. These tractors have a different steering set up than the 30 series AND the 30 series didn't stay consistent through the model years either according to parts book.If you have 530 or 630 book with that view please post or send to my e-mail, it is open. My gasser 630 has a pump and reservoir set up like your diesel, but the suction hose has to weave through the distributor/coil area and nearly kinks the way I have it run. If there is a better way I would like to do that short of using 4' of hose, putting and ell and short nipple out of the reservoir base, etc.

How's things going, better I hope.

Jim

I recently purchased a 630 diesel. I do not know the year because the serial number tag was missing. One thing that I noticed different was the location of the oil filter, mine is in the horizontal position and not the vertical. This tractor has the 3 point hitch and not the eagle claw. When I bought the tractor the decals said triple range on the side of the tank. But as it turns out this tractor is a dual range. If any one knows what causes a tractor to jump out of 4th gear high range I could use some help. I pulled the shifting cover and checked the spring, every thing looks good. The other issue this tractor has is the live pto clutch does not work properly. I will try to post some photos.
