Looking at a 1394 BGH serial number 11506460. fellow talking like he wants to get rid of it, it has a bad motor and was wondering what you intelligent folks can tell me about this model and the good and bad points of it. what is it worth in running condition? I am in South Louisiana. thanks fellows, and ladies too.

What do you mean by "BGH"?

The 1394 is just an updated 1200, 1210/12 David Brown with fancier sheet metal and a better cab.

How bad is the sheet metal? Cab? Air? Tires? 4wd? Power Shift or Synchro? Hours?

Bad points?

Half the fasteners are metric/ half inch
The paint was poor at best, rust if you look at them funny.
Lucas Electrical system... enough said
Powershifts can be troublesome if not maintained
Case/fiat factory parts are ridiculously expensive, and some stuff just isn't available anymore.
Only 3 main bearings, historically a weak crankshaft, don't lug it and they are fine

Good points...

Easy on fuel
Aftermarket parts are available and cheap for lots of it if you know where to look.
Very agile and maneuverable

Overall a solid tractor. not enough info to give you a fair value. Seen them sell from $800-$10000 in the last year. I have an engine but you are a long way off.

IDK that is what it had on data tag. it is a 4x4 with 13.6-38 tires on the corners and a hydraulic side ditching blade. sheet metal seems pretty good for here and paint faded.

13.6x38's on all 4 corners.... OOH a mudder.... I haven't seen one in person since Ag progress days in about 1983.

If it was in solid shape and in my neighborhood, I'd give $2500-3K for it.

I thought they looked sharp in the 1989 Buyer's Guide when I was 9 years old.
