I have a C that when I was mowing the right wheel locked up and spun me. I'm getting ready to tear into it this weekend. I have all the manuals but they really don't have anything good to help me diagnos the problem. Any suggestions?

Jack that side up, remove the brake cover and then spin the wheel forward and back wards, and watch the brake for movement. If it does not move listen to the wheel area for odd sounds. One like that can be a problem with the brake or the bearings. You also might drop the bull gear pan and take a good look at the oil for a melt shine in it. If you see that good chance you have a bad bearing in that area and that causes odd problem some times

Bought one last year and when we went to move it one rear wheel would roll a few feet forward or reverse before locking up. Upper bearing came apart and roller was stuck in the bull gear. If rear wheel will make approx. one revolution good chance that your problem.

For your sake let's hope its a brake problem.

poke a big screw driver into the brake hole in the case and try to pry the brake drum side to side... If it moves, i would guess you have a bad outboard bearing on the top shaft .
