DCTOM may have had his e-mail and address book pirated. Same thing happened to me by a Canadien Pharmacy Co. Usually deleted them ,took about 3 months for them to go away. |

DCTom (and whoever else it may concern),
If you have a YAHOO account they recommend that you change your password to solve this problem. Copy the link below and paste it into your browser bar to read about it.
http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?locale=en_GB&page=content&y=PROD_ACCT&id=SLN2068&impressions=true
I have not tried this as I have not had the problem. My guess is that the pirates gain access to your computer and then guess the password. If that is the case, then changing your password would solve the problem for any email account.
It would also help to have a firewall (helps keep intruders out). A firewall is part of Norton (Symantec) antivirus... as well as others. If you don't have an antivirus program then you should turn on the Windows Firewall. Procedure may vary by Windows Operating System, but is probably found under Control Panel.
If you have an antivirus program that includes a firewall, then the windows firewall is typically turned off so that the 2 don't compete. Who would have thought 20 years ago that we would have such problems? |
