Hi, was just wondering how the 830CK would be for a loader tractor. Was looking in to buying one. Any good or bad points on them to look for? |

If its a case-o-matic it is probably the best tractor made for loader work ever. If it has a foot clutch they are still good. The problems are the power steering is a little weak but very usable. The front axle is a little weak if you are doin very heavey lifting, just make sure its as narrow as posible and it will be ok. Also reverse is a little slow in low range, and a little fast in high, which is where the case-o-matic is nice, you can use high range a little easier. Still a very good tractor all around for loader work. |

Can you explain how you use Case-O-Matic?....never been around one. Anything to look at for problems with one with Case-O-Matic? |

Its a simmilar type torque converter drive like a car auto tranny with a manual lockup feature. Youy drive it like an automatic car, just pop the clutch pedal and give it gas and it moves in the high gears, it will creap in the low gears like a car so you use the brake control for like hookin up to wagons ect. The hard part for people not used to them is getting used to not feathering the clutch and always letting the cluch out at idle. Just think about it like dropping your car into drive at 1/2 throttle. not good, but at idle no problem. The slipping is what makes it good for loader work cause you can ease it into what you are pickin up easilly. Its the same thing used in all industrial loaders. When you are pulling you just pull up the leaver and lock the torque converter and it pulls like a regular tractor. If you run out of power just push it down and pull in the torque converter till you get through the tough spot. There is vertually no way to damage them accept to run them out of oil. |

I have a 4000hr. 830ck and have no interest in having a loader on one due to the shifting. |
