I"m pulling the front pump to fix the leak(s). Will someone please tell me if I have to take the widefront off or not? I"ve done plenty of 4020"s and have always had to pull the WF. Thanks to everyone for your time, John

IIRC it's easier to remove the fuel tank and radiator than the frt axle to access the hyd pump on a 4430. Hopefully if I'm incorrect someone will correct me.

Pull the radiator and lay the condesor off to the side. Remove the 2 plates that cover the pump and pull the pump out the top. An overhead hoist is nice to have for this. Good luck. Also a good time to do the water pump and replace the dampner while your in there.

Jim, on a 4230/4430 the pump is very accessible from the top, by removing the radiator, on 4630/4840/4440's the fuel tank protrudes over top of the pump to make it a bit harder to get out.

Thanks for the correction. Oh well I was 1/2 right. I guess I've forgotten more about JD's than I realized.

Practice makes perfect is what the old teachers would say,,I don't know about the "perfect" part, but the practice helps sort some problems out for sure...
