8n side mount original genny setup. anyone know the specs for teh belt? one on there now seems too long. adjustment is near the end of its travel and the belt is close to rubbing on the lower rad hose. seems an inch or two shorter would be a better fit. thanks

Money Pit.......according to my N-Parts catalog, the 8N sidemount fanbelt is 5/8"x41". Surprizingly enuff, fanbelts STRETCH, which is why theres adjusting slots for the genny mounts. ........Dell

sure im surprised they sttretch; who would have ever thought it? and i thought those slots were just for getting the new belt on without removing a pully. (yeah im just yankin the chain) this belt is only a couple of years old aint been adjusted much at all. now that i've given that bit of info it might make more sense about the concern it was originally too long. so long the genny is near the end of the adjustment.
